so, i live in the northamptonshire outback.. without mains electricity. On solar panels/batteries etc.
But i do have an 8kva backup generator.
i would like to be welding mild steel at anywhere between 1.5mm and 5mm thick. i see some machines are described as generator friendly...i wonder what that means??
ive been pointed in the direction of a MIG or a multi. I'm looking for something easily portable in the £400/500 area at machines like the GYS easymig 140, or R-tech mig 180. after trawling though the pages on here it seems that something with a reliable wire feed would be quite good...any suggestions please.. (let me know if you hear of a solar powered welder)
thanks
Phil
