Might be irrelevant.
But I had a set of Oerlikon gas welding geat from a 'well known' gloucester welding supplies Co. It was crap.
The regulators were unreliable, the torch was useless. Put me right off them as a company.
Chunko'.

Did you go for it in the end?
I have just seen one local to me for £700 with torch and reg.
)following advice from a proper welder friend, seems like a tig would suit my needs better.
....but not me
...what do you want to weld?....
There's a few proper welders on here too....but not me

It's mostly thin stuff I work with. A tig will just help me get to the bits I can't get to with my spot welder. It was obvious really, just needed someone to point it out. Now all I've got to do is master the technique. I used to gas weld in the dim distant, so it will be fine (?)oooops ...didn't mean to offend![]()
no probs Bob,Tig is very rewarding ,quiet ,and should be easier to pick up if you are reasonable with gas, however fit up needs to be closer than mig ....The r-tech are good little welders, and well within budget,so as long as your not bridging gaps ,tig is possibly the way to go
.
