Trying to find some bolts for my Manta project, but of course they would be non standard sizes!
Anyone know where I might get some?
M14 x 113
M12 x 82
M12 x 84
M10 x 100
Apart from the M10x100, that's some very odd dimensions. Are you measuring the whole length of the bolt or is that just the threaded part? Could you not just buy longer ones and cut them to length?
I was thinking I'd need to cut some.
Its a 1972 car designed by an american and built in europe. No wonder the bolts are odd
I didn't measure them, thats the specified sizes in service manuals.
You'll probably find you don't need to cut them then, just use the nearest size. M14x110 or 120, M12x80, M12x90, M10x100 are all standard sizes for hex bolts. If you don't have any luck finding them, let me know as I may be able to help .
If the M14s are head bolts (same size as a 20XE IIRC) then they can not be cut, you will strip the threads out the block if they are too short. On the XE they are a fine pitch too, do you know what the pitch is?
I can have a look in stores here and see what I can find, but its the odd lengths that are the problem and also the pitch, we generaly sell standard pitches, although most of our stock is 8.8 HT, nothing usualy less, but nothing usualy higher either (you might find you need some 10.0 HT's). Are they bolts or screws...difference is a bolt has the smooth shank between thread and head, screw/machine screw is just thread all the way with hex head e.t.c. (sorry if thats patronising, not meant to be, just the way our stock system works, correct names and all that)
The pitch matters a lot. I don't know where you are but there is a good supplier of bolts etc. in Camberly and ???, I forget the other place. They do a postal service as well. They also have a website. If you need any more info. I will seek them again.
They are bolts with smooth shank.
Is the pitch really important? I figured that as long as the nut on other end was right size it wouldn't matter. I have no idea what pitch they would be.
In edinburgh so not really any suppliers I know of!
If all of them have nuts on and don't screw into a captive thread then it's no problem, just use whatever you can get away with. The sizes I gave you before should be fine. Sounds like 2 or 3 of us would be able to help if you get stuck.

how many do you need? we normaly sell bulk, so ringing up probs wont help but if its only a few I may be able to sort something if we have a few sat in stock not doing anything.
Just to state to obvious, but have you tried your local Vauxhall dealership? I've had bolts from them in the not to distant past for the Nova. They often have them hanging about.
Dear folks who know,
I'm at the end of my rope!!! I'm looking for a metric bolt that is 8mm in diameter, and 130mm in length. I also need shorter 8mm bolts(lengths of 90mm, 110mm), and I can't find those either. Are these dimensions just flat-out impractical for use? Or is it because I happen to be in California, and apparently we just HATE the metric system over here!!! I will go to whatever end to obtain this hardware, and any advice or right-direction-pointing by you fine forum goers would be very much appreciated.
Also, I'm gonna start saying 'spanner' instead of 'wrench'. Such a better word!
