I’ve seen them used for ‘essential supplies’ that were covered by a UPS and Generator. As @colnerov has said, often used for lighting although these look like 5a round pin as apposed to the 15a that is standard in theatres…In the same box was quite a few round 3 pin

All our CAD stations were on the rotational ones, and some still are I think. Other than the plug being a big larger than usual, theres nothing much to indicate they are special - which has led to some amusementThanks for posting that.
