Another one for the experts, Freelander 1.8K engine showing P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire detected) a bit of research points to the coilpack, but thought I would check here before buying one (not too dear, luckily).
exactly right always change plugs with coil packsMake sure you change the plugs and leads too, they're a service item anyhow, and no point screwing a new pack because the lead was fried by the last one! had it too many times in the garages i've worked in.
I agree that metals are not the same quality and low lead fuel has a lot to answer for but that is across most of the fuel nowadays due to goverment directives which is similar to low sulfer diesel THEY ADVERTISE as a good thing!!. what they should say is low LUBRICATION diesel !turned out to be burnt exhaust valve! Modern metal qualities have a lot to be desired. Unsuprisingly they have been running it on tesco value fuel rubbish for several years....
We had a 1.6 2005 mini in for the same thing the other month. Checked coil, injectors etc wtc, turned out to be burnt exhaust valve! Modern metal qualities have a lot to be desired. Unsuprisingly they have been running it on tesco value fuel rubbish for several years....
cat pipe at the bottom split round the welded seam?
