In reality, the only part of the frame that needs to be oak is the seen parts, whats covered can be normal softwood.
Then again 10 k doesnt sound too bad for oak. Id use engineering brick around the bottom, they are better where there is a potential for water.
all the joists etc are just softwood, It was about £750 more to have larch weather board but I think its well worth spending the extra on. Iv got a few more prices im waiting on one is including everything along with 2 velux windows and all the personnel doors, just add the slates. were see.
Il probably use engineering bricks on the int course and face off with the stocks, having said that this place has sat here on for 150 years and was built from 3' in the ground on stocks and there still as good as the day they went in at ground level, Iv got a couple of pallets so it should be plenty to do what I need to.
