Thinking about switching for my new to me, 1950s lathe.
It has no switches at all so I'll put a nvr on off switch on it.
I may have to fix it to the original cabinet though and I'm not sure I can bring myself to screw a lump of yellow Chinese plastic to it.
Are old types like startet and mem still ok to be using? Are all those old style contactors nvr? Also, are they voltage/phase dependent? I'll be running on single phase.
I did bodge the startet on my drill to work on single phase, but it doesn't work as a nvr. Not sure if that's because it's not a nvr or because I couldn't or didn't know how to sort it.
It was a long time ago and I just did what I had to to make It turn on and off!
Sorry, basic questions I should probably know the answer to, but my world is domestic and single phase so never really had to worry about nvr's etc.
