numpty of the day award?

just been making some weld on rose joint adaptors to fit some 3/8 left handed joints.
turned em on lathe no probs drilled hole in centre whilst still in lathe no probs.

put em in vice and could i as hell get thread to start, started checking tap to check right size and not damaged.
then dawns on me was trying to turn it clockwise.
thing is got tap out of box and dad had labelled it as l/h on all four sides of box.

does that qualify me for numpty of day?

A little tip for you.......

Make die holder to fit onto the tailstock and this will negate the need to take the job off the lathe chuck for tapping or threading ie offer the tap/die up to the job and turn the chuck manually to start the threading turn/unturn and at the same time keep offering up the tailstock as you turn and unturn,the beauty is the job is central to the tailstock and the peice thats being threaded.

The taps can be fitted into the tailstock chuck.
