last night heard very loud bag from somewhere on estate.
followed about 5-10mins later by sirens.
just had our gav come down to pick up some tools so asked if he knew what score was.

turns out his neighbour down street wanted to use propane bottle to make bbq after seeing one i made for gav.

only didnt take tap off or purge it out.

thankfully no-one but him hurt and its only concussion and cuts/bruises he got.
and got some windows to replace.

Drifting a bit... I was quite dissappointed that the Jato powered Chevy story turned out to be a fake. But the jet powered new Beetle is for real, my brother lives in SF and has seen it several times. But not on afterburner

Gutted that was one of my favourites. I like the granny found at dot tom of a lake with a mug and thermal flask between her knees she was trying to brew up while driving as well the the lad trying to brake into a burger bar by sliding down the cooker vent only to get stuck .

The urban legend of the granny who expired on a beach in Spain and was then rolled up in a tent on the roof rack to get her back to UK without the hassle of Spanish regulation, was actually based on truth. Supposedly the driver stopped for a rest in France and came back to the car to find the tent had been nicked. Granny found in harbour and expensive repatriation in a lead coffin.
Real story was told by the son a few years ago. Granny did pop her cloggs on the beach in Spain, he put her in the back seat and drove non-stop to Lisbon, where he had friends in the Embassy. Story grew a bit.......


The connection between the jet powered Beetle and Jato Chevy, is that the VDubb lives in SF and the other 'event' was on the coastal road just outside.

I liked the owner of the VW's comment when asked 'How fast will she go?" He repied " I am an aerospace engineer, I am not mad"
