Number 6 not happy.

So not is all as it seemed withe volvo penta rebuilt engine.
Had to swap crank so the truck flywheel would fit, donor engine crank had been ground, and fitted with aftermarket shells, I reckon they must have rebuilt it in a sandstorm as the shells are scored to hell.
Top end is pretty much mint.
So as annoying as it was, the flywheel did me a favour in the long run.

Amazingly truck shells are still standard size, owner reckons it has done circa 2 millions kms.

Taken ages as it is a fill in job, and everything else keeps on going wrong.

Well new shells in, tabs in different place on older engine big ends, so new main bearing shells to match crankshaft (available from Volvo uk) and new big end shells to match the rods which had to come from Belgium, but only a two day wait.
Engine dropped in last Saturday, and today bare minimum of stuff connected to make it run, fuel pipes, few wires and away she went, injection pump timing is out as it is white smoking like billy ho, but she runs with no nasty noises.
Obviously like all good bosses he thinks it is nearly done, he will be disappointed when I tell him there is at least two days solid work there before it can have a test drive.

As there is a huge list of other stuff to fix, and I am off two days next week, I doubt it will see the road before the end of July.

It is in the chassis and running, just needs a few bits like gearbox etc.
Might have it driving tomorrow we shall see.
