ok popcorn thx for all the help. i did dload a manual online and the gun is the only replacement part. i drove over to the store when they opened and could get nothing from them on a replacement. they had some very similar to mine but different, i didn't see how i could make one work so i just bought a new one. it was my fault it happened, i should've stopped and cut it off. i'd have lost maybe 2 ft of wire. i never thought it'd stop the welding but hey, chalk it up to welding 101 class expenses. i know now you can't be too careful with the flow of wire. thanks again to everyone. i'll be around.
