Scrappie pulled up as I was putting some stuff in my car. “Got any scrap mate?” I had a small amount by my trailer so I let him have it. He opened his van and it was full of all sorts of scrap, including a tool cabinet. I said it was funny what people throw away and he asked if I wanted the cabinet. I was expecting him to ask for money but he just gave it to me. My little bit of scrap didn’t seem a good exchange so I took his number and said I’d square it to his advantage.
Once I’d cleaned it up and straightened the liid stays which were very bent and I’d made up and painted a couple of drawer security bars, it’s ended up looking brand new. I’ve ordered a new lock for under £3.00. Pity there was a bit of drawer trim missing but I’ve made that the middle drawer.
Well chuffed with it.
