Posted this in my Insta page but not here so thought I’d better.
Got rid of my Focus project the other day and sourced this Mk5 07 Golf from my mate who was upgrading to a Mitsu ASX.
99k miles, reasonably clean with a good unmarked interior for £800! Paint looked ok and not pink due to the lacquer and reasonably hard paint, it took a machine polish session very well. This was after 7 hours on the Meguiars G220 mop, with St1 being Farecla cutting compound (couldn’t find my 3M fast cut!), St2 was Meguiars polish (finished off with Auto Glym SRP as I ran out of the Megs) then finished off with PoorBoys wax with Carnuba (smells like bubblegum )
Rear lense full of water was due to not being clipped back together after someone changed a lamp, and headlights mopped to give them a little more bling.
Next I knew I had a set of 5x112 PCD Audi A4/A6 rims sitting in the garden which I bought about 6 years ago to go on the old T2 bay after machining the centres, which never happened, so those being 15x6 meant no money needed spending on tyres. Turns out the sidewall on one was cracked so £78 later, 1 new tyre and three others swapped over and carcasses disposed off it looks a little better if somewhat a little under sized on the rim front, so I’ve invested in a set of Stance+ 30-60mm coilovers to settle the rubber up inside the arches and give it the Euro look. They are being fitted this week while I’m away.
Enjoy!
Opinions welcome.
