Around 6m ago my mate was gonna sell me his missus car for a grand but it never happened. FF to now and I mentioned I may need transport as Im thinking of selling my T5 camper to get a Kombi as we've never slept in it since the conversion. So he says gimme £300 as it needs work. So my other mate turns up Saturday with his trailer and off we went. Got it home and first things first was to open the passenger door as the latch was locked shut. Seems its a common problem with Minis.
Got the door panel of using brute force and ignorance and after fumbling inside the door I managed to get it open, so I flooded it with ptfe to make sure its lubed. Next I ordered an exhaust from the bay for just £44 inc delivery.
Sent it over the garage on Saturday morning for an MOT and surprisingly it passed with a few advisories. The exhaust had a slight blow (advisory) but it was on its way to me anyway. Failures were rear number plate light bulb blown, one tyre ropey and a binding rear brake caliper which they freed up for me and retested before ringing me to collect it.
I spent about 6 hours mopping and waxing the paint yesterday and today I fitted the new exhaust and stripped and cleaned the rear discs and gave them a coat of paint. Still gonna get a full set of discs and pads as theyre only £66!
Anyway, heres the pics before the exhaust was done.
