and to top it all off the quick release female coupling is now leaking more than ever, I guess these things wear out over time, are they serviceable? Or is it time to get a new one I may have a few actually I know I have a few

well I managed to get the compressor working it didnt sound or perform too good at first the motor was barley turning and looked like it was rocking backwards and forwards for a while it threw the thermal cut out out

fixed the air body saw how long it will last who knows depends how much abuse it get I suppose

the die grinder didnt want to play still maybe it has seen better days cant say it has had that much use though but it is a SIP

and the PCL fitting does not seem to come apart so I replaced that with a cheapie it is 4 or 5 years old

that is what I thought I had it in the vice but could not get it to move

is it belt driven ? can you take the belt off and spin the motor like that >

try turning the compressor by hand too

yes it is belt driven Good shout I will do that next time it stops working, funny I sprayed the connector where the mains cable meets the cable to the box on top and it started working coincidence?

coincidence? Yes probably, maybe the switch contact are burning and only just making contact or a high resistance joint somewhere. The spray and a bit of movement might of sorted it.

But generally things that go away by themselves come back by themselves.

my air sanders decided to pack up after dark today, wondering if it is the moisture in the air?? i had been running a new one all day just fine (in-line lubricator) using oil as it should all day. then slowed up. got another new one out the box again oil fed, this one lasted about half an hour before having the same problem. went back to the original one and that lasted another half hour... i think its either ice or very cold oil or moisture swelling the veins?? anyway, sat them on top of my boiler for the night, see what tomorrow brings...
