That is terrifying, doctors seem to get away with GBH and manslaughter daily, with zero probability of punishment.
However you have to ask yourself, why did the patient let the proceedure happen, he must have been in absolute agony. To fix a nose-bleed?
I think some naive people think doctors are not to be questioned, that they know everything and will do their utmost for you. This is obviously very far from the reality.

this is my mother. She thinks the same about police as well.
In her case I think it’s a generational thing. Maybe I’m too quick to question

A mechanic could make a error and he will go to prison . A doctor can be completely negligent and it’s just one of those things
A gp killed my father in law. Struck off in ‘15 but she now in another practice

My mum, born 1925, was brought up that way; but she changed her viewpoint pretty quick about the old bill, when teenage me came back from my first nicking, having been battered and nonced-up in the cells by the boys in blue.this is my mother. She thinks the same about police as well.

That shouldn’t happen. Having done some work for the plod I have seen what happens and what’s said. They are not as white as they like to think.
Some are good and tied by red tape. Some are bad people. Most are just lazy or disillusioned with it all.

I went into the stores one day in HQ to get something, and there was a big (like huge) box of maglites on the counter. All been recalled in favour of LEDs that clip on the body armour. A sign saying £2 each and a charity box. I had a fiver on me so bought 2 and stuck the note in the box.A classmate of mine left to join the Met, first leave home he was flogging truncheons.

Told a few people the story and got the usual “get us one” so a couple of days later I went back to get more. Was going to get a few spares for me also. They had all gone. Asked the stores woman and she said “oh yeah, Sgt XYZ said they were needed for Operation So-and-so”
Cynical old me did a quick eBay search and found a load of maglites for sale in the town he lives in
