Saying hello as I just joined the forum today wanting to learn how to mig weld. After reading on here and recomendstions from a few people I know who weld, I've bought a Rtech180
I'll be posting my progress for comment pointed once I get started

I'm currently in the middle of supercharging an old 5 series so need to make brackets for various bits like intercooler, oil coolers, etc.

I've gone slightly overkill using 4mm mild steel for the brackets for stifffness. So I'll be but welding 4mm to 4mm and 4mm to the car engine bay which looks as thin as 1mm to 2mm in some areas.

Will also be welding some capture nuts in place as well

I do want to keep on welding past this so eager to start and keep learning

That sounds interesting. So would that be an E39 V8?

Are you going with a Roots type or centrifugal charger?

It’s something I looked into for my E46 M3 years ago but in the end went with a genuine CSL airbox with active flap, MAP sensor and CSL firmware via BDM.

It's an e28 528i and I've gone with a rotrex centrifugal type charger. I'll post some pics up of it at some point
