My first post so Hi guys, i found this forum by accident and its been interesting reading alot of the posts here regarding fabrication etc
Ive got a slight problem. Got my first car track day in May, bought myself a helmet however with the helmet on my head touches the roof of the car, ive tried adjusting seat recline but doesnt really help. So im setting about making my recaro seats sit lower. The seat is attached to the rails via 4 brackets, this is one of the brackets, theyre all the same. Now im thinking of removing these brackets and replacing them with some L shaped brackets that arent as tall and in effect giving a lower seat height and some room to straighten my neck with helmet fitted!!
Does anyone know where i can buy 1meter length (will probably need less then this) of L shaped steal metal approx 3mm thick 40mmx40mm (this will be too big but will cut down to correct size) as pictured HERE ? I know pic says 2mm, but ive now decided on 3mm.
Is this something B&Q would sell? Not been in for years and years.
I can buy a special set of rails for my car which lower the seat by 40mm, but at £140 they're quite pricey.
Any help much appreciated!
