First of all, thanks for any help anyone can give me with this.
I play with kit cars and am fed up with my crappy chinese mig setup.
As luck would have it, a friend who has a mega tig setup has offered to tutor me to get me up to speed with tig so I can do what I need to using the tig process.
To give you an idea, jobs to be done range from fabricating engine mounts from ERW tube to modifiyng a stainless steel tubular exhuast manifold.
To do this I will need to buy some kit.
After having done a bit of reading in here, it occured to me that I might buy a valved tig torch and an AC/DC power source.
I had in mind an AC/DC arc set and a valved torch.
Is the arc welder a bad idea or would I be better off with an inverter ?
Lastly, who wants to buy the remains of a dead chinese mig. I promise to listen before I purchase anything....
