All,
Many thanks for a great site that has taught me to weld and now hopefully spray. I am now looking to strip my MG Midget back to bare metal and spray with Cellulose in my home garage. I have been lurking in the background for a while and have trawled through the archives but still have loads of questions.
I have welded in replacement panels, repaired old panels and have some second hand panels. for this reason I thought it best to go back to bare metal as the car is now multicoloured with different paint systems.
Once my car is stripped back to bare metal I was planning on;
1 Using a non ISO Epoxy that I can use at home (not sure which one?)
2 Using U-Pol fantastic for dents etc.
3 Cellulose High build primer (Jawel)
4 Cellulose top coat (Jawel)
Is this the correct order of doing things as I'm unsure if the bodyfiller is before or after the epoxy stage?
Can I get an epoxy (Archives suggest this is better than Etch) to use at home without an air-fed mask that is compatible with cellulose.
The main issue I have is time, Would it be a problem if I left the car once sprayed in epoxy for 10 months prior to top coat as I may not be able to complete it during the warmer months?
Many thanks in advance,
Dave.
