Are they any good? . £1943 +vat for a genuine DPF for my Citroen relay van against £550 + vat for the cheapest aftermarket one. And are any makes better than others?
It's not blocked it's letting soot through.have you tried washing it out with a pressure washer ?
It's not blocked it's letting soot through.
1. always serviced at 30,000 mile intervals with recommend oilUmm - good question!
Why did the DPF fail?
1. Low ash oil? Poor servicing
2. Injectors over fueling?
3. Failed EGR valve?
4. Oil use from engine? Rings or valve stem seals?
5. Turbo failing feeding oil mist into DPF?
6. Failed regen gear/sensors?
These are the questions I would be asking myself before I parted with £2k + of my own money.
As I would not want to make the purchase twice!
Yes mot fail . No EML light the mot tester let me drive it 10 miles flat out in 3rd gear , but same reading on return. He said he's seen a couple like this at around 120,000 miles.Failed MOT on smoke?
No EML on?

Italian test drive - clear it out and represent!

How many miles has your covered?
just sharpen a bit of 1/34 thin wall pipe and knock it right through the middle leave the core in the rest of it if the two holes line up ,,, then it wont sound hollow if tapped ,,,, [ or so Im told } not the sort of thing id be doing myself of course....The mot inspector suspected a cracked dpf core. If I remove it will be able to see if it's cracked?

correct , but it will fill the gap in the exhaust till it gets swapped next year for a day. That won't stop the smoke - putting a hole in it.
