No section for Arc-Tec?

I have a question about my Arc-Tec 300 but there doesn't seem to be a section for it.
This may seem a basic question but I have been welding professionally for nearly 40 years but still don't know what the difference is between the three tappings marked A B & C.
I have never bought a new welder, they are always second hand and just leave the tappings as they come but really started to wonder what difference they make. I have tried all three but I can't see any significant difference.
The welder is three phase and 300 amp.

Why didn't you just say you don't know?
I can read that but I still don't know which tapping does what as they are only marked abc.

Seems fairly straight forward, tweaking your dial will decrease spatter for a given welding setting.
How hard can it be to change to two other positions when welding to see the effect?

The ABC markings will increase or decrease inductance depending on where you plug the cable in, which position do you have it in as normally?

A=1000, B=1500, C=2000 (all in Micro Henries of course)

Now. Does that help?

No. Knowing what each position is is meaningless. Surely it's down to how it affects the weld.

Because I'd be lying, I know full well what they are, that's why I said they were inductance taps. If I didn't know, I would have kept quiet. I posted the link to the google results because you seemed incapable of figuring out how to use google without a responsible adult present.

There is no dial, just three tappings, I have tried all thre as I said earlier but there is little difference, maybe a bigger difference on smaller material.

Absolutely, which brings me back to the question, which one is high and which low? On 22swg none is significantly different from the other. I guess i'll try when welding some 1/2" plate and see if that makes a difference.

I'd suggest you let this one go Gary and research your questions else where as there isn't a need to react like that.
Like I said your second post would of done it for me. Hugh answered your question you could of just asked him to elaborate and I'm sure he would of "and?" Isn't going to get a decent reply so yes you've shot your self in the foot. This welding forum is very likely not going to be as helpful as you hoped.
