Hehe, man that words funny. Anyway, layed down my first few welds today, and it's interesting. I'm either blowing holes or not penetrating. Can someone please look at the pictures and let me have any tips you have.
Got a 150TE Clarke, set 2 and min(power) with wire speed 5.5. I figure I may have to increase wire speed and drop power slightly but just wanted to check.
And don't laugh, I think they look quite, errrr........ evenly spaced????

They're not bad for a 1st attempt, at least you've got penetration, not just blobbed it on the surface. We've all been there Davey, just keep practising, the guy who taught me kept getting me to write my name in weld to learn control. If you haven't already got one, an auto-darkening mask is great. I know weldequip does them at a really good price.
