I posted this link on Alec Steels' YouTube channel. He's getting into knife making in a big way. The proposed law is clearly NUTS!
You might just as well ban pencils.

. I got an email from Heinnie Haynes site about this last week and they depend on postage for their livelihood. There will be a workaround for it somewhere.I think it is very wise idea to ban mail order of anything even vaguely pointy
Have you seen the damage that can be done with a sharpened mango?
And its not like any houses in the UK have any sharp kitchen knifes hanging around in the kitchen
That’s now 5 posts I’ve had to remove, any more and it’ll be padlock o’clock.
I say lets go back to using "FLINT tools"........go on u know u want 1..........hahaha........

Change "greatly effect" for greatly affect" and it's all good. The two words have almost opposite meanings you see.
You think it will actually be read by anyone?
I doubt it
It won't hurt me none at all honestly. Firstly I do very little knife work compared to other stuff and it will make it harder for the very cheap foreign fakers to operateI agree with the previous posts.
.It is already very illegal to stab people, or carry anything with intent to commit a crime.
I rememèber being sternly told off for forgetting to bring my penknife to school (70's) yet by some miracle none of us stabbed each other..
If this becomes law it could hurt small businesses like Kent of Bowland Fabrications who is on here and forged me a top knife.
And a nuisance as well if, like me, (sailing and rigging) you use knives a lot.
Politicians dont live in the real world, and get their butler to slice the onions![]()
Its all smoke and mirrors for politicians to say they are fixing knife crime. Most of which is actually done with a knife taken from the kitchen drawer..
