that started years ago where we started to loose our industryIt's success or failure is going to be intrinsically tied to whether major economies begin to implement a Duty on embedded carbon emissions when goods cross borders, soon enough to make green steel viable commercially.
If the UK, EU (and ideally USA given the green new deal) don't push forward with that approach it will be a complete betrayal of everyone who is trying to keep indigenous manufacturing alive, and revitalise it to meet the purported needs of the energy transition.
cotton, wool and near on to just about every industry has all but gone here in the uk so as goes for indeigenous industry hardly any exist here in the uk
all shipped abroad as they dont want to pay our wages dont want to pay on the tax
offer tax breaks like in usa and they will ise it all up and move to another area as soon as they get another tax incentive
as goes for employing in he area well about a third is the rest is outside of the area
its all about cheap labour we want to make the biggest profit so they will move where its best interests for them
as goes for rotheram and sheffield and yes i do know a good amount of steel is made there and the shipbuilding but even i dont see the need for the steel industry being there sorry its been run into the ground on purpose by the companys
