Yeah its mainly classics. I'm not just sticking with VW's its just the way things seem to have worked, although I am a vw owner myself. Maybe thats more pointing to the fact vw owners are prepared to pay to have work done rather than just scrapping vehicles.

I was just thinking stick with old knackers, they are all rusty.
Plus enthusiasts lurrve their old knackers.
If you can get a reputation for good work with these people you are onto a good one.
An old chunkular rant pops up.
People do not need what you do (nobody needs to keep a knackered old VW on the road) They want to do it, and choose to do it. Nobody needs what I do either, ( the sculpture thang) they want it. If people want something they are willing to pay for it.
If they need it they will haggle. If possible dont haggle.

Totally agree Wallace, i have never had to tout or advertise in any manner for my work world wide. I have loads of repeat punters that know what they will get at a price of priduction run stuff.

Interesting about haggling, rarely got it and the few that did, were mostly ex sales types that felt they had to.

Well as it is I havent had to advertise yet really, word of mouth has worked well so far. :-)

A good club beats Faecesbook any day and most were there before T'internet.

Could I suggest you do not advertise until you have moved a few of the existing vehicles back to their respecting owners? Concentrate on making an excellent job of what you have and set a standard you are comfortable with providing, advertising will bring all manner of problems and pressure your way and you will spend most of your time talking or replying to people rather than working.

In short this will be your workshop looking at you then after a while this will be you when the phone rings

+1 Too much work can do as much damage to a business as too little, and delivering late can do even more.

As I said not really advertised as such. Just word of mouth mainly. A couple of cards have gone to people that have asked but thats about it.
