Wish I hadn't bothered today...
Decided to make some Intergrip copies.
Made up a little jig, hacksawed a small slot in the end of some M6 BZP studding:
Clarke 130TE MIG, Hobbygas, 0.6mm wire.
Weld would not take to the hacksaw blade. This, the blade piece I tried welding in a new, slotted, M6 stud:
So I binned the hacksaw blade end and cut some 1mm mild steel sheet. Cleaned it, set it up on the jig. Same again. Weld stuck to the stud but not the sheet
Not enough amps?
I'm going to buy some brazing rods and fail using the MAPP torch too
