5/16 is close to 8mm i will try a few combinations of 5/16 and 8mm later on and report back.

Ok couldn't find a 5/16 bsf bolt but have old a tap.

Tap very hard to start in a 8mm nut
8mm bolt goes into a 5/15 bsf nut no more than 2 turns, normally about one and a half.

Hope that may help, other possibilities are 5/16 unf.

just spoke to the service department they are going to try and find out what size nipple is used, they are made in the far east I am told so they could be any size!

ha ha I did think about running a normal M8 tap through it but it will probably have to be drilled out and made into a M10, that's my last resort

tap went in easy hardly any swarf it isnt structural so it will be fine if it brakes ill drill it out and tap M10
