Nice TIG welds

I was at hospital with the Wife today
Found these welds on some stainless hand rails

It's really sad, years ago I did some asbestos surveying, even now when I walk into a new building the first thing I do is visually scan it for suspect materials.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices welds. Was at the local hospital with the missus just after Xmas having her broken foot xrayed and noticed a load of dodgy welds on the bed she had. Pointed them out but nothing done about it. Some looked really cold and some looked like the welds had been glued on for effect

Waiting at Manchester airport for Mrs TBD I think I inspected every welded handrail in terminal 1, all stainless, all appalling

Being an ex sparky, I note crap wiring (hospitals often have some shocking crap smuggled in - one place had a load of socket "safety" covers, spoke to estates...guy near blew a gasket, seemingly they are verboten as they know they are crap and break sockets, but the women who work there, keep bringing them in to "protect the kids"...seemingly its a losing battle...)

our local hospital had all the sockets lifted out of reach of kids a tone point, I thought it was a great idea but when it was re-fitted they all came back down to standard height

I've never understood the whole socket protector kid proof cover thingy's, I've never seen a kid with small enough fingers to get them in the socket and kids that small certainly have no business wandering around with metal objects, but hey we do live in a nanny state now so hey ho.

last time the wife was in for a scan I couldn't help but notice the state of the welds on the beds and trolleys,
