Some are good. I like the Malcom Macdonald ones better.
Did you notice he talks about needing gloves in the safety section. Then proceeds to do all the demos with no gloves. Later has has gloves and they look pristine.
And he uses a handheld mask. I thought those were only for bystanders
I think when you reach a "level", fancy kit like photoreactive lenses and goobers become unnecessary.
Personally, I have always used summer pattern biking gloves - they are more sensitive - just do not pick up freshly welded pieces with em. (same applies to welding gloves too, I suspect).
the gloves i use you can pick up hot hot hot stuff with, just remember that the heat takes a little while to go through, so if u start feeling heat, take em off as quick as u can.
Did anyone notice the piece of board he used to do the welding on. It looked like some conti board. Would it be conti board or some special heat proof board? If so what?
I've just had 2 of those arrow magnets for holding work from ebay, havent used them yet, but interesting how he says the magnetic field affects the arc in this video and you can hear it spattering badly. That was a big magnet he had though.
If you go to utube and google video you will find some more stuff out there. I have loads on DVD MIG,TIG,MMA gas. just cross my palms with silver to help fund my addiction to welding gases via paypal just PM me I have most of them that you can get off eBay if Malc is ok with me selling them that is and there is no copyright on any items £6.oo a go including posting to forum members
