Just thought I'd pass this on, a very useful rivnut tool for occasional use, great quality and affordable....and made in UK.
I needed a tool to insert some 8mm rivet nuts and most of the scissor action type ones only go to 6mm or cost loads. I eventually found MEMfast who not only had an affordable tool but also had the exact type of insert I needed which was to go into a fibreglass cast which I only have access to from one side (actually it was the insert I found first then read a review of the inserting tool). The nut insert has collapsible legs a bit like a jack nut but more robust (and larger sizes) so will give a wide grip in softer and uneven materials.
The 'Flexi-nut' isn't actually on the market yet but Ken at Memfast very kindly sent me a few (which arrived the very next day). This sort of attention always wins me over so I happily spent some money on a tool to insert them with. Whilst it might be hard work if you had a lot to do it's much more efficient than just using a nut and bolt and will insert nuts up to 10mm.
It's a very well engineered tool and compact enough to go into tight spaces. It seems like quite a small company and they are really friendly and helpful, they also sell various inserts in small quantities.
I used it the day it arrived to insert some 6mm nuts in galv round tube (to attach a plate for mounting auto gate opener) and am most impressed
I could have used tec-screws but obviously wanted to play with my new toy and the resulting fixing was far neater than a tec-screw.
