Ni-MH batteries no longer charging

Thanks all, some good info there.
I've just used an old ATX power supply to briefly put 12V through a couple to see if shocking them worked but it didn't.
They got very warm but as soon as I put them into the smart charger it says no go.
Having said that, 3x 5 second zaps each and they're now in my mouse and are working fine.
I probably have far too many anyway, I am sat here now looking at over 25 that aren't currently being used!

There's an interesting thread just been started on another forum I'm on.
Basically a guy has bought some unbranded AA batteries on Ebay for £4 with a claimed capacity of 3500 mAh.
He's tested them in his smart charger and said that the best he can get out of them is just 850mAh so he's not happy!
Now call me sceptical but none of the world's premier battery manufacturers even makes a 3500 to my knowledge.
Just doing a google search for 3500mAh AA makes you suspicious, names like 'Star Power', Ultra Fire', 'Superpower'....Who?
Someone put this link up, quite handy for those who want the best performance, look at the one at the bottom!

You might be confuesing 18650 batteries with AAs Ultrafire to name one, tend to make 18650 batteries abit bigger than an AA, youcan get those upto 4ah

No, definitely AA.
Seems to be the only supposedly 3500mAh ones sold are under those typically 'eye catching' brand names like 'fission power', SuperUltraNuke' etc. and all at ridiculously low prices for a 4 pack.

Yes, I have tested different brands I have on my charger/cycler. Several are over rated a bit. The highest I have says 2700mAh.

I can get 2300mAH on a low current test (150ma). On 750mah it drops to 1400mAh or so.

The Panasonic and Sanyo batts tested right at their rated capacity. They were also at least twice as expensive.
