I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these batteries on ebay. I have got 4 dewalt 18v batteries that need replacing/refurb, 2 x 2400mAh Ni-CD and 2 x 2600mAh Ni-Mh. I am having trouble finding a UK supplier for the Ni-CD sub C's (guess its down to the cadmium content). Anyone got any suggestions?

Not the same seller, but similar, I bought loads of Sub C NiMh Chinese batteries to re-cell some DeWalt 18v packs. They were USELESS 
I now need to send them off to a proper re-celler to fit proper cells when I can afford the approx £50 per pack.

Have you had any from them, and if so were they ok? The supposed high capacity cells I got elsewhere a/ were useless and b/ weighed far less than the originals

I have not bought from them as yet. After pricing up the cost of refurbing 4 batteries with 2000mAh or 2400mAh NiCd's I'm not far off the cost of two new 4000mAh Li-Ion batteries and a charger to suit.

R/C cars use sub-c battery packs, usually 6 or 7 cell. They can be an inexpensive source and some are available rated for very high currents.
I try and stick with Sanyo or Panasonic NiCads. No-name ones usually can't handle the high currents the tools require.

I have decided to get a set of 15 from batteriesplus and see what there like, at least it is a UK company and I will have someone to grip to if they are crap. I will let you know how I get on. Now, any ideas on a cheap battery tab spot welder......

Have a Google for microwave spotwelder for doing battery tabs! I was tempted to try their NiMh but not sure if the NiCd charger would be suitable. All four of my zapped Ryobi batteries are shot now and will not hold a charge for any length of time.

NiMh don't work as well as NiCads for heavy use. You see the R/C car guys try 3000mAh NiMh instead of 2000mAh NiCads and get the same run time and they don't last long. They just get a lot hotter than NiCads.
If you don't use the drill had, NiMh will work. The charger may not see the peak as NiMh have half the peak slope of NiCads.
