the question you have to ask yourself is the info important for silly use

weve all been down vhs recording tapes wear out if you dont think hard drives usb sticks and sd cards dont wear out please think again even ssd drives wear out or start to lose info on them

best info i can say is replace every 2/3 months if you really want good info held on them
cctv replace every year
sd cards for photography id replace evrry 3 months due to pricelss photos been taken as goes for doing wedding special occasions price it into your price and give them the sd card
usb sticks replace with newer better models every year

this is my opinion and really no guarantee its just really keep the important stuff the most

There's nothing in solid state storage to wear out though, it literally comes down to quality of design/manufacture and components, in theory if no expense was spared a solid state device would easily last a lifetime. There's non-volatile storage from the 60s that will still work perfectly well.

You say youd replace cards every 3 months, would you spend 10 times that price if it came with a lifetime guarantee and stop replacing?

With cloud storage now I can't see a need to replace cards that often even if you make your living from the data. Immediately back it up to the cloud and stop worrying! I haven't lost a single nibble of data ever, simply because I always back everything up.

Erase/write endurance has improved greatly since the early days of flash, but it is still a limiting factor in flash memory life, and is why the major storage providers have only very recently stopped advising against SSDs for routine server use.

theres only one product i know of that comes with a lifetime guarantee and thats a zippo lighter and yes theyve been true to there word so far

IMO it's a poor use of the word "wear", though by definition you are absolutely correct.

Most consumer flash memory these days can endure 100k p/e cycles, so for a flash card in a camera that's 3 times a day, every day for nearly 94 years...I'd consider that a lifetime.

Some are now claiming 100 million cycles.

What makes of card and where did you get it?

I use a Samsung evo plus U3 card if you order one beware the fakes on Ebay, I used Amazon to get the last few as if they are fake you can send them back.

Not nextbase but had similar prob, pressed the button to save an incident it's the only time I have used the save feature and guess what, it's the only bit it didn't record, it corrupted the file when it tried to save it, everything before and after is fine, had I just unplugged it thing would have been fine grrrrrr
