hello i am scott from chesterfield , derbyshire. 22 years old, married with 1 son and 1 step daughter.
i am an MRO - welder which means i do everything in the factors but on a welders wage.
i make frames for landfill sites that are then cladded with plastic and valves etc are put inside for the methane run off. i will post a few pics up when i have more time

hope to gain a bit more expirience from the members here.

I like the heater out of a gas bottle, is that multi fuel or wood only ?

i just use the calor gas bottle for wood burning. that was my second attempt. done 12 up to now for friends etc.
the last picture is a 4meter lifeboat / speedboat for marine.
the company i work for usually make things out of plastic

We use fusion provida products at work (landfill), I did some pipe welding this morning.
I've been to the Halesowen branch a few times.

did you use out automatic butt fusion machines?
i am at the largest site at chesterfield. my mum has worked there for 20 odd years. you will prob ring our site for all your stuff. environmental provida deals with all the landfill stuff normally.

hi, welding up frames eh, ****ty work but its one of the best ways to learn to keep your welds neat and everything square. it will stand to you for the future, happy xmas.

the type we have is for the small stuff - assemble the fittings by hand and connect the 'welder', it very cleverly reads how long the fusion process requires. I presume it knows how long to 'heat' for by measuring the resistance in the windings - longer windings = higher resistance = longer cycle.

oh for the couplers and bends etc. they are automatic, just plug the leads on etc and away you go. i have to use them for some work we do for brian donkins, all yellow gas pipe. the machines are handy as they can do a printoff of the tolerences.

above are the boxes we use at the minute. and we have got another one which is called a q box i think. which will be out soon. it will enable you to detect every single weld made all over the world via gps. clever stuff

do you ever have any valve boxes / viridor boxes etc at yours?

danny, its the easiest way to start mate. get some expirience under my belt and go from there. hoping to get coded as they want me to do some walkways over the extrusion line. safety and all that

there are two pins. it reads the resistance of the red pin. over 300 different pins have to be recognised for small stuff like 63 couplers all the way up to 355 couplers. its a very clever way to do it.
