Hi
I have been messing about building stuff in my gargae for a bit now. Last year I built a motorcycle frame as well as a frame jig and work bench.
Ive been using a 180 amp Oxford stick welder, damn fine machine, but MMA is a bit of a limiting process in many ways. Its taken a while to be able to produce good welds with it but even now I struggle with positional welding. A pending repair to a car has prompted more thinkings on the matter. I could do it with the Oxford, it is that controlable, but a MIG is faster, easier, better in tricky positions and makes less mess.
Thinking about a MIG welder, I want to avoid getting a cheap hobby machine that will end up in the skip like my last one did after a particularly annoying session with wire feed issues. But on the other hand I don't really want a £600 machine sitting around doing not a lot most of the time.
Anyhow, if you don't mind I'm going for a mooch about here.
