Hi
wished to say hello and what a fantastic forum , hope this finds everyone is safe and well , had land rovers some 30 x years and now own a discovery 3, wish to update the headlights but will need new wings
Occasionally sprayed cellulose many moons ago but haven’t got a clue about the newer paints, ie 2k etc
Bought the new steel wings that already has a black primer on it , so have started reading through the forum to try and understand the basics , wish to eventually spray the wings metallic Java black 697 , alas have read the discovery 4 black is different which would have been a lot easier , lol
only have a small compressor , 50 x litres, 9.6 Cfm , been reading up about the HVLP spray guns
As the wings already have a black primer I’m wondering if it would be best to just sand it very lightly and then apply another primer so that I’ll then know for sure the primer is sound , then a base coat and a lacquer coat , alas haven’t got a clue on what kind etc etc
just wished to say many thanks for allowing me to join this fantastic forum and hope that I’ll be able to contribute in any way I can , have started to read some of the brilliant threads to learn as much as I can
thanks again and look forward to chatting
