Hi all,
Although I've been a member on here for some time, I've not realy used the forums to the max, just reading up on different bits and bobs and normally finding out what I need.
Unfortunately not this time, and it seems quite a little or stupid thing. So here goes.
I have two mig welders,
the first a very old (30yrs) Clarke Gas less mig
the 2nd a brand new Gas / Gas less mig.
Both are giving me the Same problem, in that, The Wire spool is sticking on the spool holder.
If I put the spool on very loose, the wire is pulled through ok, but as it slides further onto the spool holder it is tightening up antil it gets too tight.
I tried to lubricate the post and spool hole with various elements (Wd40, Copper slip ect) but No Use whatsoever, it still fastens up.
Is there ANYTHING you lot out there use to ensure the spool turns freely (at the correct tension) Today I had to have a pal sit and hold the spool whilst I welded.
cheers,
Joe.
