Right I got my form to post tomorow to get my account setup with Air Products for a bottle of Argon.
Just to get me started I could do with a little advice on rods, tungstens & torch.
I plan on welding both mild & stainless steel.
My torch already is set-up for 2.5mm tungstens, just wondering what are the difference's in using different ceramics and the rear tail (not sure what it's called) ie: what applications for different attachment's.
With tungsterns I had a red tip'ed in the torch. I understand that red tip is for stainless steel but can they be used for mild steel, if not what colour tip should I use for mild steel.
I'm gessing the thickness in the tungstens is for what ampage you are using for the different thickness in the steel your welding. Is there a rule of thum to follow for this.
Now with welding/filler rods, same again that one is for mild and another is for stainless, is there a rule of thum for the thickness of filler rods I should be using.
Last question, how much roughly should I pay for tungsterns and filler rods.
I do appreciate any advice, I just need a little info to get me started.
Thanks
