Hello, I took a class in stick welding a few years ago, but recently bought a Miller 211 mig set up for a Jeep TJ frame repair I want to accomplish. I'm just starting off, so can you critique these beads and penetration?
I know I have to control my speed and work on keeping things straighter, but is there any other obvious flaws I can work on?
I also need to figure out how to tie the beads together so they look continuous. My Jeep project is a Safe T Cap by Autorust. It's basically a slip over repair. The instructions say to stitch weld 1" beads, so there's going to be A LOT of tying beads together.
My set up:
Miller 211
.035 solid wire
75/25 @ 24 CFH
Voltage auto set at #6
Wire Speed at 50
1/8" thick hot rolled steel

Any advice is greatly appreciated. - Rick
