Hi all bought myself a welder to play about with at home, a sip migmate 130, I had done about a week of mig in college 5 years ago and haven't done anything since. So im needing to weld a bolt to the end of a bit of bar to use for a tool for the car, so tried a few practice runs before hand, and managed to weld the tip twice, what is it im doing wrong here, first time my wire speed was too low, 2nd time it was high and I still managed it, im holding the welder about 10-15mm away when I start off, with the thickness of metal I had current settings high, and the wire feed seems to be coming through freely, so before I go get new tips and destroy them has any one got any ideas, thanks
