Hi, I'm trying to weld a fillet between an 1/8" L and a 14 gauge (2mm) steel sheet. I'm having trouble with this since the molten metal keeps sticking either to the L or to the sheet but not both most of the time.
I'm using an inverter with DCEN at 60-90 amps to keep the heat on the rod and avoid burning through the sheet metal. Electrode is 5/64 (2mm) E6013. I'm angling at 45° between both metals and around 60° in the direction of travel, and trying to keep the arc short.
Which settings would you use to weld a fillet between an 1/8" L and thin sheet metal? Would you use a different/bigger electrode?
Thanks in advance.
Alex
