Hi all.
hope you can help me with my dilemma,
For my sins I am currently restoring a Triumph Herald. I have done all the welding (Most of the body is new!) and have the exterior areas of body that need paint in a semi stripped state, which I will be taking back to bare metal due to the 4 layers of paint On the car. The underside and interior of the body I am going to key and roller/brush with jotamastic 87, seam seal and then cover in body coloured raptor.
My dilemma is the parts of the body that will need to be painted. I need to seam seal a lot of panel joints in these areas but obv need to get it primered before I can do this. Filling etc I can do but I have never picked up a paint gun so was going to leave this to the pros. I have a 150l 3hp compressor and can buy a gun, new hoses masks and traps etc. Is it worth a complete beginner having a go at putting an epoxy primer on or am I wasting my time and money? -will a painter even touch a car that has been primered by someone else?
