Hi folks
Iam currently in spain and I need a welder to weld mainly 2-4mm box steel
The problem I have is that we are on a caravan site and we are limited to 10 AMP supply
Now I no a couple of guys on here that have welders but there welding is like bird S----t
I preferably want a mig welder as I use one at home in uk but the gas seems very expensive
( can I use the gas that runs beer barrels)
Or this pre fluxed stuff is it any good ?
If not it will have to be an ark welder not my first choice though

It needs to be pretty portable and with a longish torch/ feed

Any help or advice would be very helpful

you can use pure Co2 from the pub industry but thats it no other mixes

Have you had a look at the GYS 160, think that has a decent euro torch/lead, not sure how it will perform on your supply though...electricity is not my strong point.

I used Co2 for a while and it was ok ish, gasless wire is not nice to use in my opinion but some manage with it and it does them for their needs.

GYS Smartmig 160 might be a little difficult to run on a 10A supply, never known it run off less than a 13A.
I think a small inverter mig or stick welder might be the way to go, Jasic mig 160, Weldteam magizzy 170 etc..
or the ever popular Parweld XTI 160

Don't know what availability is like over in Spain, or do you plan to buy in the UK & take it over?

So you can use CO 2 ( but on a scale of 1-10 how good is it ?
Also not sure we're to buy
if I buy in uk then send it over that's more cost preferably I would buy in spain if I can

I should imagine it would be difficult sending a bottle of gas over to Spain and very costly.

Has the site you are on not got a club house,, anytime I have been to Spain there seems to be every gas bottle in the world lying around, a decent tip of a few euros should get you sorted.

It's not brilliant gas to use but it's not bad either, certainly miles better than gasless.
