hi every one. first post.spend most of my net time on the marine forums.
just commissioning a plasma king 55. in south india. we are moving into smaller work boats ,yachts etc.as the shipping industry is strung out. using 3to 6 mm steel.instead of 8 to 12mm plating.so cutting and welding calls for plasma and mig. welding.
a few queries on the king 55. which the hand book doesnt address. the switch at top right has three positions. off and 1 -2. is this for different thickness of cut? The stand off spring on the nose of the cutter. a s45 doesnt.its 2mm above the nose cap.we have cut 5mm steel and 4mm s/s. but waiting for a bigger workshop compressor.
consumables will be a problem, and we will have to import. can any one point us in the the right directions for consumables at a realistic price.
I return to europe ( greece and uk) later next month and will be looking to set up contacts for spares.and some training on plasma cutting.
have got the shotblasting and hvlp painting up and running (tottering really) with the local labour. first yacht 90% and 40ft hi speed workboat50 %.
any in put gratefully received.thanks
