Newarc RT2000 Inverter Tig Torch

Hi, I’ve just brought a used Newarc RT2000 I didn’t pay much but didn’t come with a Tig Touch so not sure it even works. Arc is fine. My question is what Touch is compatible with this model? Would a QQ150 standard fit?

That looks like it may be a non standard torch, the descriptions I found doesn't give the information required to say either way. I would be looking for the more common WP style torches. Many of the cheap torches have metric connections or supply power through a dinze plug and a seperate gas connection.

Does your machine supplies power through the threaded connection on the front panel for TIG welding? If so what size is it? Probably 3/8" BSP.

I think you will need a torch with a 3/8"bsp combined power/gas connector.

Before I go out and buy a new lead etc is there anything I can test to see if the Tig side of things works? Anyone got experience with these machines?

I sure you will have to weld with it to be sure, I think it would be worth calling a few local welder service companies to see how much a check over would cost, or just a functional test.

If you don’t have much in the way of test equipment you can do a very rudimentary test by triggering the machine in tig mode while simultaneously attempting to strike an arc with a welding rod. If the rod tries to or actually does strike then it’s safe to say you have some welding current there and the set should work. If you don’t have a stick lead and electrodes though don’t be tempted to test the output from the terminals with a multimeter unless you can be sure the HF start is off of you’ll destroy your meter.
To trigger the machine it is the two outer pins on the little chrome socket. I have the plugs and pretty much any torch you like on the shelf.
