Perhaps you should give it a try before dismissing it out of hand? I prefer it to dairy, it is THAT good, even when I used to do dairy products. It was a helpful and educational response, remember them? I'm sure I have seen them here from time to time. No offence taken of course, but honestly you should give it a try. The one big benefit of having stuff marked Vegan is that it tends to get left in the cabinets by those who don't know, for those who do.

I could probably do with it to be honest, my culinary lifestyle is appalling, I eat once a day, a big evening meal of probably horrendous health value, followed by a half dozen beers. And usually some snacking and nibbling later.

I have been astonished at the variety of food available now, although intermittently in Lidl. Some of it is the same old processed crap of course but there is a whole different world out there waiting to be explored, once label phobia is overcome.

Something that did disappoint me is cheese. It IS very nice, something like Dutch Edam to the taste but sadly all the varieties seem to taste the same, regardless of the label on the pack.
