New year new occupation?

Started life as a sparky 5 year apprenticeship then moved to TV& radio then other things Looking at the quality of work on a lot of buildings I despair.
Had an extension on the house plumber left a cistern overflow in a cavity wall! told me the feed\return pipes for the boiler could not be moved from one side to the other, had to show him the installation manual, I suggested he put his tools in in van & did not return, (sort off) he could not understand why I was ******, his boss was very annoyed said he is one of the top people I have working for me
Still surprised at some of the new reg's though

Hi all,
Been a roofer, have some mig & Tig qualifications, like to arc weld, mess around with many a car. Usually fairly adept when shown how to do things. So hopefully have some transferable skills. Thanks for all the replies so far - many a wise word! Thanks Addjunkie, elusive to me that sounds like a good plan you have there. Gritineye -funny you should say that, our 'sweep seems proper happy and stress free! Kayos - I might take you up on that offer - where are you located? Thanks Steve_s. PDG - I understand what you mean and didn't expect to be qualified - just step on that long ladder - like I said everyone has to start somewhere! Not sure about that qoute^^^
If you don't know what some of the more basic and everyday equations are about you got no chance mate!
I'd say you need next to no electrical knowledge to be a PAT tester though....

monkeys do pat testing I could do loads but I care not to. used to do 2ooo a year at a school I do all the work for and gave it up its just button pushing
