Agree. But the only thing a cover does is prevent any damage,by heat. Just tape the three cables together.we used to order Binzels with woven sheath, you'd still have to tape or tie the sheath to the torch, or run with some exposed cables.
If it were mine, I'd cut it off and replace the whole thing with a zip up leather one. Or maybe woven cloth. They aren't expensive

I like mine too but there's a plastic knot where the leather meets the rubber every now and then it will snag then release causing a nice big black cloud, but only on something I want to look good lolI know what you mean... but it does help with abrasion too. That section nearest the torch is the most flexed and used area, and hung and dragged over stuff... I'd not feel comfortable running a torch without some sort of cover to take the worst of it.
I love the short leather sections on Lorch and other euro style torches. Best of both worlds.
