New Workshop Has 3 Phase 415

Hi all, new work shop has 415v 3 phase. Current set up has a 16a breaker in the board.

........ Is this 16a per phase or 16a across the three. I'm a bit rusty on all of that lol!

if the breaker is 3 phase its 16 each phase

It certainly is 3 phase.

You need to remember that current doesn't flow between phases and neutral, but between the phases.

And you also need to remember to be f3ck1ng careful every thing is safe if you are not used to working on 3 phase installations!

i have found the best way to do any work on 3 phase is to get some one who knows what they are doing to do the job

Not much difference to single phase really, flashes are a bit brighter and bangs a bit louder

are we talking from personal experience there it ruins your screwdrivers beyond use as well and frightens everyone round u even the guard dog where i was working s..hit its self and hid

Only a couple of smallish bangs/flashes

The most impressive was a Bill isolator when someone (not me) shorted 2 phases, started an arc which kept going until the supply fuses were pulled by which time it had started to melt the enclosure!
